Joe Mullins Congressman
CEO and president of The Mullins Companies
Congressman Joe Mullins has built a life shaped by steady effort, practical leadership, and a long-standing commitment to community responsibility. His career reflects a balance between entrepreneurship, public service, and philanthropy, developed over decades of work across Georgia and Florida. Rather than following a single path, he has moved across industries and roles, focusing on results, accountability, and creating opportunities that support local growth.
Early Life and Foundations
He was raised in Evans, Georgia, where early experiences helped shape his work ethic and sense of responsibility. During high school, he was active in athletics and involved in theater and leadership organizations, including FBLA, Jr. Achievement, and 4-H. These activities introduced him to teamwork, discipline, and communication, all of which became lasting influences in his personal and professional life.

He later earned a BBA in Business Management from the University of Georgia. Wanting to expand his understanding beyond traditional business models, he attended UCLA, where he studied under Hollywood agent Henry Holmes. This exposure gave him a firsthand view of the entertainment industry and reinforced the importance of preparation, relationships, and long-term thinking.
Entry Into Sports and Entertainment
With a business education and early access to the entertainment field, Joe entered the sports and entertainment space. He represented athletes and entertainers who later became recognized at the highest levels, including induction into the NFL and the boxing Hall of Fame. During this period, he developed skills in negotiation, talent management, and trust building. He also worked as an intern with the Anthony Robbins companies, gaining experience that strengthened both his professional and personal development.

These early roles taught Joe the value of consistency and follow-through. The lessons he learned during this time carried forward as he expanded into broader business ventures.
Building The Mullins Companies
Joe’s entrepreneurial efforts eventually led to the formation of The Mullins Companies, which includes Mullins Properties and Mullins Sports & Entertainment. What began as a small operation grew into a diversified group of businesses operating across real estate, construction, restaurants, franchise management, and service industries. His real estate division expanded steadily, reaching more than 800 multifamily units along with several commercial properties.

The growth of the Mullins companies required careful leadership, especially during periods of economic uncertainty such as the COVID-19 storm. Many properties faced high vacancy and operational strain, yet through active management and team coordination, they achieved recovery and reached strong occupancy and performance levels.

Joe’s approach often involves acquiring troubled properties, investing in improvements, and working to stabilize them so they contribute positively to their surrounding communities. Partnerships, joint ventures, and redevelopment projects became essential tools in expanding the company’s footprint.
Sports, Media, and Outreach
The sports division of the business grew through relationships with major corporate clients and sponsorships connected to college playoffs and national championship games. This work positioned the company as a reliable partner for organizations seeking access to high-level sports & entertainment opportunities.

Joe also entered the media through a small local radio program that gradually built a wider audience. The show eventually expanded across Florida and Georgia, reaching millions of listeners. Airing on Salem Media radio and online platforms, “Live, Work, Shop, Play in Florida” features conversations with political leaders, business professionals, athletes, authors, and entertainers. Joe’s direct and conversational style helped the program grow into one of the region’s most listened to shows.
Public Service in Flagler County
Public service became another chapter in Joe’s career when he served as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners in Flagler County. Joe Mullins, Flagler, focused on practical initiatives that addressed infrastructure, fiscal stability, and community needs. He played a role in expanding broadband access to underserved areas and helped secure funding for mental health services.

During hurricanes, administrative transitions, and the pandemic, he worked with local, state, and federal partners to guide the County toward financial stability. His efforts included funding for beach nourishment, workforce housing initiatives, and disaster recovery support. He also served as Vice Chair on the National Association of Counties Broadband Committee, helping advance rural broadband access.
Philanthropy and Personal Commitment
Giving back has remained central to Joe’s work. Through Mullins Charities, he has helped raise more than $10 million for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Club, and the Salvation Army. Joe Mullins of Augusta has also supported local efforts like “Shop with a Doc,” assisting pediatric burn patients and their families.
With more than fourteen years sober, Joe is open about his recovery journey and actively supports opioid addiction recovery efforts. He has served on opioid task forces at multiple levels, helped organize awareness events, and supported families facing crisis.
Continuing the Work
Today, The Mullins Companies continues to grow, its media platform reaches new audiences, and its philanthropic efforts remain active. His career reflects persistence, learning, and service shaped by the communities he values most. Congressman Joe Mullins continues to view each new chapter as an opportunity to contribute responsibly, strengthen local communities, and help others find paths forward through steady and meaningful work.
